Dr Vilasi received a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training / Sports Medicine from Ithaca College and a Masters degree and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University.
Dr Vilasi has over 20 years experience in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, sports, geriatric rehabilitation and sports conditioning. Pete specializes in manual physical therapy, biomechanical assessments and function based rehabilitation with an exclusive focus on getting to the root cause of your condition.
Dr Pete also has extensive experience in designing and creating outpatient rehabilitations facilities in which he focuses on creating a functional work environment that invokes a relaxing / healing atmosphere.
As Executive Director at Integrated Physical Therapy Services, Inc., Dr Vilasi's role is in the design, implementation, growth and management of corporate programs & facilities, staff growth and development, and administrative management of corporate structure.
Dr Pete has been a competitive runner for over 34 years having competed at the high school and collegiate level as a high and intermediate hurdler but converted to distance running over 24 years ago. Dr Pete has completed 12 marathons, several ultra distance road and trail events and innumerable other distance events. Dr Pete is passionate about the science and biomechanics behind optimal training for the endurance athlete and is a USATF level 2 certified coach specializing in endurance training. He offers his knowledge and experience through services provided at excelrunner.com. (a subcomponent of services offered at IPTS). Dr Pete provides training programs for the endurance runner and additionally offers biomechanical assessment of running form via video analysis and running form development techniques as well as assessment and rehabilitation of running related injuries.
